And yes, very thought provoking, especially after putting a "face" to her role in history. (I have no idea if the statue is modeled after her or not, but it works for me.) Anyway, it's up to us to remember, and share these moments, I think. Remind each other of what this nation has been through - especially in an election year when a great portion of the population is arguing.
Love the boot pic, also - wish they were mine. :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10088409491178996382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362503919392294415.post-57726657015005938012012-09-22T18:18:59.637-06:002012-09-22T18:18:59.637-06:00I'm so glad to know about the Sacajawea Grave ...I'm so glad to know about the Sacajawea Grave and statue (thanks for the photos!) and also about the Shoshone Indians of Wyoming. The beauty that lingers from a people who, sadly, were virtually destroyed by invaders -- makes you really think about history. I really like the photo of hiking boots that you posted when you started your vacation!Mariann Reganhttp://mariannregan.authorsxpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362503919392294415.post-54012091578295884292012-09-21T20:22:07.322-06:002012-09-21T20:22:07.322-06:00Jana, it was a great trip, we had a blast. I'll be posting pics on my FB page sometime in the near future.
How neat that you just wrote about it, too, but from a historical stand point. I'll have to read that one - lots of catching up to do now that I'm back!
~JenAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10088409491178996382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362503919392294415.post-77283825572937827512012-09-21T17:01:39.944-06:002012-09-21T17:01:39.944-06:00Wow! I was especially intrigued to learn you went to Yellowstone, since I just recently published a post about my grandparents' visit to Yellowstone in 1952. I posted some photos from their trip as well. Did you happen to go to Old Faithful?

Thanks for the photos and info. about Sacajawea. Very interesting.Jana Iverson Lasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07687969613629975601noreply@blogger.com
